Making the trip to the gym can be frightening. People go there to become healthy, active, and strong, but because of some gym patrons, it can be difficult to achieve those goals. You know, the people who trash machinery, don’t pick up after themselves, and generally act rude.
We put together a list of horrible gym patrons and their actions since we know that no one wants their experience to be ruined by such people—if nothing else, you should at least chuckle at it. Tell us how many of these people you have already met.
1. Apparently This Gym Has A Sauna-Pisser Problem
2. Every Disabled Spot Filled At The Gym, Not One Disabled Badge In Sight
3. Someone Cut Their. . . Um . . . Hair In The Gym Shower
Although many individuals genuinely fear coming to the gym, everyone wants to be in shape and get healthier. Despite the fact that most fitness centres appear to be busy, a poll indicated that almost 50% of Americans are afraid to work out there. There is a term for the uneasy feeling that you may have also experienced. We refer to it as “gymtimidation.”
Many people battle with this emotion because they don’t want to feel evaluated or observed when they exercise. Going to the gym may be much more difficult because of this self-consciousness. In addition to causing social anxiety, rude people can add to the unpleasantness of the situation.

5. People Like This At The Gym That Just Sit On Their Phones Taking Up The Equipment You Would Like To Use

It’s possible that you, as a fitness trainer, beginner, or enthusiast, have also seen strange and unusual things at your gym. For this reason, we at Bored Panda contacted Mumbai-based fitness instructor Ganesh Kelkar to find out what amusing or infuriating things he had seen at the gym.
Ganesh informed us of his observations of the following:
1. Guys who lift bigger weights in the presence of women.
2 . Individuals using exercise equipment and having phone conversations.
3. Instead of working out, patrons at the gym spend the majority of their time conversing and having fun with one another.
7. People Who Put Their Stuff On Equipment At The Gym
8. At The Gym During The Busiest Time Of Day
9. Guy At The Gym Always Takes Up Four Spots
The only people who truly get to see everything that goes on at the centre are the gym trainers, aside from the fitness lovers who come there to work out. For this reason, we also spoke with celebrity trainer and fitness advisor Vinod Channa.
Many people “block space or equipment and justify it by saying they are lifting heavier,” according to Vinod. They reserve the right to use the equipment for themselves till they have finished working out. They’re hard to convince that this is a public gym and we should switch with other individuals.
“Different age groups have different targets,” he added. Young people lift extremely heavy weights—even more than they are capable of lifting—because they believe that by working out more, they can achieve their goal sooner. They may not be able to push the weights, but they still attempt, which makes it seem really amusing.

Reading the guidelines is the most crucial thing to do if you’re new to a fitness centre. You can get advice from staff members on the place’s dos and don’ts. Little gestures such as wiping perspiration from the equipment, clearing up chalk stains, and refraining from dropping weights unless instructed to do so by the gym improve the experience for other patrons.
“Wear separate shoes when you go to the gym,” advised Vinod Channa. Bring rags or napkins to clean the exercise bench. During rest cycles, switch places with other folks. To exercise evenly, complete their routine, and return home, everyone should work together.

14. Seeing This, You’d Think This Gym Had Zero Locker Rooms
15. There’s A Pigeon In My Gym
One of the nicest things you can do as a gym patron is to abide by the rules so that everyone else can enjoy a comfortable and safe atmosphere. Fitness professionals list the following as some of the most fundamental guidelines you should be aware of:
1. Avoid taking extended rest periods on the equipment that might prevent someone else from utilising the facilities of the gym in the meantime.
2. When working out, pay attention to how loud you are and try not to be too annoying or distracting.
3. Avoid staring at strangers; you’ll make them uncomfortable while they’re merely attempting to work out quietly.
4. While it may be difficult to avoid offering helpful tips or advise to other gym patrons, doing so can irritate and divert them from their current set.
5. When you’re through using the equipment, store it rather than leaving it lying around.
16. Bad Gym Locker Room Etiquette
17. These Two Guys At My Gym Who Hoard All The Dumbells
18. The Gym Was Empty, But He Still Stood Next To Me
The exercise instructors also imparted some additional crucial advice that members of the gym had to be aware of. “It’s crucial to inspire juniors and newcomers so that they know they can also accomplish their goals,” Ganesh stated.
“I see so many people watching videos and trying to achieve that,” Vinod continued. They fail to understand that it takes years of work and doesn’t happen in a matter of months.
19. People That Don’t Put Their Weights Away At The Gym
20. In The Gym Of The Hotel I’m Staying At
21. No Respect For Public Places
It’s not necessary for going to the gym to be like the articles in this list. It can be a fulfilling experience that promotes health. Hopefully, this listicle hasn’t made you any less of a fearful exerciser. We also sincerely hope that none of the things on this list have ever been done by you or have ever crossed your path.
If so, please share your experience with us in the comments. Then we’ll know which gyms to stay away from!
