You don’t need to search much farther for relatable and humorous material! We’re excited to present the most recent comic strips created by Los Angeles-based artist Mary Park, who goes by Murzz on social media. You may recall our earlier pieces that highlighted some of her early work, which were amusing cartoons that addressed the difficulties faced by women and struck a deep chord with a large audience.

Murzz’s art injects humour into the most ordinary yet relevant situations of life, from negotiating the peculiarities of everyday living to delightfully capturing the highs and lows of committed relationships. Her comics have attracted a devoted following of people who identify with her astute and humorous insights, whether she is making fun of self-care practices gone wrong or the difficulties of juggling love and life.

The second question we asked focused on Mary’s use of humour in her writing. “I think people have always been able to relate to the way I handle life’s challenges through humour,” the cartoonist said. People tend to relate to me when I simply share my tale from my point of view.

Additionally, Murzz sent us some information about other comic book artists whose work and aesthetic she finds inspiring: “I wanted to tell my story in a way that I enjoyed as a child, inspired by shows like Hamtaro, The Sound of Your Heart, and Crayon Shin-Chan,” the author said of Murrz.

We concluded by asking Mary which particular strip she has made thus far is her personal favourite. “Yes, the one I drew about my parents’ journey as immigrants and raising us in America has been my personal favourite,” she replied.
